Lucid dreams are knowing that you are dreaming while in a dream, and perhaps, being able to change the dream to do anything you want since you know it's a dream.

Try this site: www.lucidity.com

Stephen LaBerge is the president of the lucidity institute and has written a few books about how to obtain them, prolong them, etc. I sent him 61 lucid dream that I had recorded about sixteen years ago. Although I don't have too much trouble triggering lucid dreams, there is a device that the lucidity institute sells that is quite good at learning how to trigger them.

You put on this mask over your eyes when you go to sleep, and the mask has a computer and a sensor to detect when you're in REM state. When it detects this it flashes a small light.

In your dream you see this light and are reminded that you are dreaming. Then you can try to fly or change the landscape or whatever you want to do. There are some experiments you can do that the lucidity institute will send you if you're interested.

Some people get them by thinking they want to have them just before they go to sleep. Others wake up in the morning and then turn over to sleep again with the intention of having such a dream.

When you realize that you are dreaming, you are probably in a lucid dream. The colours are as vivid as any drug trip, and knowing that you are dreaming, you realize that you can do anything that you want. You can jump in front of a train, and you will not be hurt. You can sexually molest anyone that is in your dream, and you may have a climax that will surpass any that you have had while awake. If you do have a climax, you may wake up, but you can train yourself not to. In short, anything that you would never do in real life, you can do in your dream without worrying about the consequences. (You know there will be no adverse consequences, because you know it is just a dream). Again, the trick is to be dreaming and realize that it is a dream. I once jumped in front of a train, hoping that I was dreaming. I wasn't 100% sure, but fortunately, I WAS dreaming.

Lucid dreams occur during REM sleep after the person becomes conscious and aware of dreaming within the dream.

Oneirology is the scientific study of dreams.

Lucid dreams are the ability to know you are dreaming. It means 'awakening within the dream'

I used to be able to do it often and I would realize I was dreaming and then start flying, or moving objects with my mind.

Buddhist monks say it is essential for enlightenment.

You can achieve this ability by concentrating deeply before going to sleep and saying to yourself ' I will awaken within my dream and realize I am dreaming"

You should continually ask yourself during the day:

"Is this a dream?"

Eventually, you will be dreaming and will ask yourself the same question.

It takes practice.

Lucid dreams are really just astral travels, everyone does this whether they belive it or not, it's remembering them that's key. All you have to do is think something and there you are in it or having it or seeing it...it's pretty cool. Read up on astral travel, it will open a new world of inner spiritualty and purpose for you.
